With a history stretching back over 140 years, the University of Tsukuba is one of Japan's oldest and most respected universities. Ranked in Japan's top 10, and in the top 250 globally, we strive to produce graduates who are well placed to succeed in an increasingly complex and competitive world.

Located in Tsukuba city, less than an hour train ride from central Tokyo, the University offers a pleasant, relaxed, college-town feel, with all the conveniences of the capital within easy reach.

We offer international undergraduate programs taught in English in Life and Environmental Science (majors: Biology, Agrobiology, Geoscience), International Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary Engineering, Global Issues, and Medical Science. A wide range of Masters and PhD degree programs taught in English are also available.

Our international degree programs offer September entry allowing easy application and entry for international students, are taught and administered entirely in English, and provide comprehensive student support and Japanese language training. Furthermore, we charge internationally competitive tuition fees, and offer a range of scholarships and fees waivers.
