Student Life at the University of Tsukuba

Student LifeMoving away to university is a huge step. For many, it will be their first time to live alone. For some, it will be their first time to come to Japan, or even go overseas. University is a time of huge change, and huge personal growth for most people. Here at the University of Tsukuba, we're committed to trying to make that process a bit less scary, and more fun.

We realize that university isn't all about what's learned in the classroom. As important as academic studies are, experiences outside the classroom are also important for personal development. Thus, our university management strongly encourage students to take part in sports and other recreational activities.

To this end, the university has over 240 clubs and associations, from magic and juggling, to anime, to taiko drumming, to judo and karate, to soccer, running, skiing, music and dance, the University has something for every taste.
