With nearly 140 years of history, the University of Tsukuba has a long and distinguished history as one of Japan's premier educational establishments. Tsukuba has always been one of Japan's more international universities, with the foreign community an important part of our character.

Now, with the advent of a range of new degree programs taught entirely in English, the opportunity to study in Tsukuba can be offered to an even greater range of people from all over the world.

Undergraduate Programs

Students from around the world can choose to study in nine undergraduate schools here at the University of Tsukuba. We have programs in taught entirely in English in three fields: Life & Environmental Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social & International Studies.

Masters Programs

A number of Masters degree programs are also offered by the university, providing students the opportunity to gain a higher level degree from one of Japan's premier research universities.

Doctoral Programs

Over three hundred research institutions are located in and around the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture. Students and researchers have the opportunity to work in a truly unique science city that emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

Short Programs

The University offers a range of short-term training programs aimed at undergraduate and graduate students, as well as teaching professionals, for both Japanese and non-Japanese people.
