Agro-biological resources

are the basis of human society, as well as providing a safe and healthy life. Through a comprehensive study of this subject, the educational programs in Agro-biological Resource Sciences fosters people who are able to contribute to food security in Japan and the wider world, and to the development, preservation and ongoing use of environmentally friendly agrobiological resources. This requires an understanding of both local differences and global points of view.

Research

in our department is primarily focused on the interaction between humans and the environment, which encompasses a huge variety of subjects, from pure science (chemistry, physics, biology), through to the applied sciences including economics and sociology. We places a strong emphasis on the multidisciplinary nature of modern societal and global issues, from climate change to food security and environmental conservation.

Our educational programs

aim to provide knowledge and expertise to overcome challenges and issues on biodiversity and interaction between its elements and human-kinds, sustainable development and the environment. We have strong international relationship with overseas universities enabling students to broaden their knowledge and skills by studying abroad.
