On 11th June, 2016, a friendly sports event, Japan Sports Festival, was held at the gymnasium of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Approximately 40 local people participated in the festival.
The 4th Meeting of Japanese and Brazilian students, organized by ANBEC, will be held on 19th July, 2016.

On 30 June 2016 the JANET Forum 2016 “Explore Research in Japan” was held at Henry-Ford-Bau at Freie Universität Berlin, one of our partner universities.
On 28 and 29 June Tsukuba University President Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President Caroline Fern Benton and Osamu Oneda of the Office of Global Initiative participated in an academic conference under the title “Education, Research and Innovation - The Universities’ Mission between Academic Core Values
The third and last day of the Tsukuba-UCI Science Partnership Conference, December 11, focused on the fields of exercise medicine and neuroscience.
The second day, December 10, focused on presentations in the molecular and cellular foundations of human biology.
The first day, December 9, scheduled the Young Scientist Symposium in the morning, while the Entrepreneurship Workshop was held in the afternoon.
The German Tsukuba Society held a meeting in Berlin on June 27. Director Keiichi Aizawa of the University of Tsukuba Bonn Office took charge of the meeting.
On 27 June 2016 an information event for FU Berlin students set to spend a year abroad at the University of Tsukuba was held at the International Office of FU Berlin.

On 13 June 2016 (Mo) at 6.15 PM an information event about the exchange with Cologne University will be held at the Joint Use Faculty Building room A201 at Tsukuba University.
On 25 May 2016 the 7th Bonn University Study Abroad Fair was held at Bonn University. Represented by Yusaku Nishijima of the Bonn Office, and Alexander Tokarev and Andre Zerbe of the Bonn Branch of the German Tsukuba Society, the University of Tsukuba also participated in this event.
On 21. And 22. May 2016 the 21st Japanese-German Symposium, which is jointly organised by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and German Society of JSPS-Scholarship Holders (JSPS-Club), was held in Oldenburg.

The 20th ASIP Open Seminar on the “Status of Manga in Brazil” was held on June 14, 2016 at the University of Tsukuba campus.
From 23rd to 27th July 2016 the Euroscience Open Forum 2016, Europe’s biggest academic conference, will be held at our partner university in Manchester.

On 10 May 2016 festivities on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the German-Japanese Society Bonn were held in the Old Town Hall of Bonn. Yusaku Nishijima of Tsukuba University’s Bonn Office also participated.
We went on a field study trip to the Sugadaira Montane Research Center, a research center of University of Tsukuba in Ueda, Nagano for five days during Spring break from March 7 until March 11, 2016.
Team of students from our university visited the Nanjing Agricultural University during 2/25 and 3/5. The program included experiencing Chinese culture, learning the language, sightseeing and more!

This program aims to foster long-lasting partnerships between the University of Tsukuba and German universities through the exchange of individuals or groups. It intends to strengthen existing and initiate new partnerships.
"Baumkuchen no kai" gathering group is a international place for Japanese students who are interested in Germany and German students who study at the University of Tsukuba to communicate and share thoughts in german and Japanese.
A delegation from the University of Hamburg headed by President Dieter Lenzen made a visit to the University of Tsukuba on April 4.
