Judo delegation from Brazil visits President Nagata

On September 27, 2017, Director Umakakeba Uichiro of the Kodokan Judo Institute in Brazil led a delegation of six Brazilian judo leaders to visit President Kyosuke Nagata.

In Brazil, the focus is on the human aspect of judo instruction and efforts are currently being made to introduce judo to public schools.

This time, as part of the "Sports for Tomorrow (SFT)" initiatives sponsored by the Japan Sports Promotion Center, the University of Tsukuba is conducting training on judo instruction and practical skills for one month at our university. During the courtesy visit with the president, discussions were held on the basis of the results of this training as a starting point, which could lead towards developing cooperative dispatch of academic advisors in Brazil in the future.
