Welcome party for incoming freshmen in Japanese courses held in Kazakhstan

On September 20, 2017, a welcome party for incoming freshmen was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). This year, 13 undergraduates and 2 graduate students entered Japanese courses. The students come from the cities of Almaty, Aktobe, and Astana. At the beginning of the welcome party, Samal Kadikova, Japanese lecturer, sent a message of congratulations, and students and freshmen introduced themselves. There were dance performances for new students, as well as the playing of the Dombra, a traditional Kazakh instrument. Two Japanese students from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies participated in the welcome party.
