On June 11, a delegation from Atelier Fidalga, an artist group from Sao Paulo, Brazil, visited the University of Tsukuba.
The Sao Paulo Office made arrangements on behalf of the Brazilian delegation composed of Ms. Sandra Cinto, Mr. Albano Afonso, Mr. Ding Musa, Mr. Flavio Cerqueira, and Mr. Futoshi Yoshizawa. The group met with Provost Toshimasa Yamanaka and Assistant Professor Herbeth Lim Fondevilla of the University's Faculty of Arts and Design.
They went on a campus tour appreciating the various art works that abound. Led by Professor Yasuyoshi Saito of the same Faculty, they also looked at pictures and wooden statues created by students for their graduation projects. The delegation also had the opportunity to spend time with students and exchange opinions on each other’s art works at the atelier.
The University of Tsukuba is currently increasing its efforts to promote international exchange with Latin America. For that reason the Sao Paulo Office in Brazil started its operations formally in April 2015. The office is expected to further support various exchanges and collaborations between Brazil and Japan.
