For most students, tuition fees are one of the biggest expenses they have to buget for. This is particularly true for international students, where tuition fees can be substantial.
As part of G30, the university offers first year free for all G30 undergraduate students, and then charges domestic fees for all subsequent years. Furthermore, the University waives the normal entrance fee, meaning that aside from accommodation and living expenses, first year at Tsukuba is free for G30 undergraduate students.
Domestic fees are 535,800 yen per year - approximately US$6,500 per year. Some scholarships (such as the 2nd and 3rd year Tsukuba Scholarships) cover tuition fees. For high achieving students, a limited number of tuition fees waivers are also available via the International Student Center.
