College of Geoscience
Earth is a planet full of water and life including human beings, with a history of 4.6 billion years. In recent years, there has been a strong demand for sustainable use of the earth environment, a human living space, without destroying it. For the sustainable development of human society, we need the study to reconstruct the evolution of the earth, to properly understand the dynamics of the local/global natural environments and its connection with the human society, and to predict the future. That is geoscience, and it has a mission to explore the dynamics of the earth's system from various points of view, and to respond to various social demands.
In the College of Geosciences, we study the evolution of the Earth from its birth to the present, various phenomena and their dynamics occurring in the Earth's atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere, and humans activities on the Earth. We offer the English and Japanese Programs for Bachelor of Science in Geoscience to acquire a wide range of basic knowledge of geoscience for properly understanding global changes and human activity, and to develop comprehensive thinking power.
