Interdisciplinary Engineering

In the Bachelor's Program of interdisciplinary Engineering, we focus on creation of human resources who will contribute to develop appropriate technologies for the next generation of society based on their Interdisciplinary knowledge achieved though this program.

To contribute to the solutions of various contemporary challenges in the 21st century society, e.g. issues related to energy, environment, water, etc., modern science and technology are expected to play more effective and practical roles rather than the academic role only. In other words, the ability to respond more flexibly to the social demands is becoming essential for engineers and researchers.

Thus, as a university of the 21st century, to take part in creating a sustainable and smart society for future generations, the University of Tsukuba introduces the Bachelor's program in Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering.

The specific objective of this program is to offer comprehensive and advanced education and training in research, ranging from the basics of natural science to applications in science and technology, so that they can contribute to the solution of the above mentioned social challenges. Our Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Engineering has been desigined in the framework of traditional engneering, ICT and the internet of things (IoT).

[Notice] Regarding the Change of AY 2023 Entrance Examination for the Interdisciplinary Engineering Program

Bachelor's Program in Interdisciplinary Engineering considers mathematics ability as a requirement for applicants' qualification, and we evaluate the ability by the test scores from the unified examinations of each country.

From the AY2023 entrance examination, the list of the unified exams to be used for evaluations will be changed. Detailed information can be checked at "this link".
