Undergraduate Programs

Students from around the world can choose to study in nine undergraduate schools here at the University of Tsukuba. We have programs in taught entirely in English in three fields: Life & Environmental Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social & International Studies.

Masters Programs

A number of Masters degree programs are also offered by the university, providing students the opportunity to gain a higher level degree from one of Japan's premier research universities.

Doctoral Programs

Over three hundred research institutions are located in and around the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture. Students and researchers have the opportunity to work in a truly unique science city that emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

We offer international undergraduate programs taught in English in Life and Environmental Science, majoring in Biology, Agrobiology or Geoscience, International Social Sciences, majoring in Sociology, Economics, Law, Political Science, International Relations or International Development, and Medical Science. A wide range of Masters and PhD degree programs taught in English are also available.

Our international degree programs offer September entry allowing easy application and entry for international students, are taught and administered entirely in English, and provide comprehensive student support and Japanese language training. Furthermore, we waive entrance fees and offer the first semester tuition-free for all undergraduate English program students, as well as having a range of scholarships available.
